Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick has been the named the recipient of the best goal award at the just concluded Euro 2020 tournament. The Bayer Leverkusen star won the award for the best goal at Euro 2020 following his second strike against Scotland as he scored a brace to lead his country to a 2-0 win in their opening game of the tournament.
Schick and Czech Republic were in Group D alongside England, Scotland and Croatia. The win over Scotland was the only success recorded in the group stage by the Czechs. They defeated a 10-man Dutch team 2-0 in the round of 16 after qualifying as the third best team in Group D behind Croatia and leaders England before losing 2-1 to Denmark in the quarterfinals thereby crashing out at that stage of the tournament.
Bayer Leverkusen star Schick was one of the ten Euro 2020 Goal of the Tournament nominees revealed by UEFA before the winner was announced on Wednesday evening. Some of the other nominees on the list include Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium), Lorenzo Insigne (Italy), Paul Pogba (France) and Mikkel Damsgaard (Denmark).
