RASHFORD ENDS GOAL DROUGHT AGAINST BRENTFORD

England international Marcus Rashford is back amongst the goals once again after he found the back of the net for Manchester United during their Premier League win over London team Brentford. The Euro 2020 finalist found the back of the net shortly after coming on as a substitute for compatriot Mason Greenwood.

Manchester United are out of the Premier League title race, but a place in the top four and Champions League football is achievable. They needed to beat London team Brentfordaway from home to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four as far as this season’s English top flight is concerned. They started the Brentford poorly and didn’t seize control until the second half.

CITY EDGE CLEAR WITH ARSENAL WIN

Defending champions Manchester City have moved eleven (11) points clear at the Premier League summitafter their 2-1 comeback win at Arsenal. They began the Arsenal game with an eight-point lead and they were able to increase their advantage by three more points after the late win against the Gunners.

Arsenal took the lead that their impressive display merited on 31 minutes courtesy the in-form Bukayo Saka who starred for England at the Euro 2020 tournament last summer. Saka scored with a left-footed strike off the assist from left-back Kieran Tierney. It was his fourth goal in three games. The Euro 2020 finalist had earlier scored one of the goals in the 4-1 away win over Leeds Unitedbefore adding two goals during the 5-0 away drubbing of bottom team Norwich City in the last Arsenal game before they took on Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

SHAW BACK FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLASH

New Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Luke Shaw is in contention to face Young Boys in the final Group F game for the two teams. Rangnick is the interim manager at Old Trafford until next summer and he would be in the Manchester United dugout for only his second game since his appointment at the start of last week.

In his first game as Manchester United manager, Rangnick watched on as Brazilian international Fred scored the only goal in the 77^th minute to propel histeam to a 1-0 home win over South London club Crystal Palace in what was a Premier League match.

WHITE LEFT OUT OF ENGLAND SQUAD

Arsenal defender Ben White has been left out of the England squad for their final two World Cup qualifiers ahead of Qatar 2022. He was a major absentee from the 25-man squad named for the Albania and San Marino games last week Thursday by manager Gareth Southgate.

White, 24, has been in good form for Arsenal this season, but it was not enough to earn him a place in the England team for the November qualifiers as the one-time world champions bid to secure a spot at the World Cup tournament next year.

RASHFORD SCORING RUN STOPPED BY LIVERPOOL

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has been amongst the goals since his return from injury earlier this month. The England international had missed the start of the season after he opted to undergo a surgery on a troublesome shoulder problem at the end of the Euro 2020 tournament.

Rashford was part of the England team that got to the final at the Euro 2020 tournament before missing out to Italy via penalties in the final. The Manchester United star came on as a second half substitute at the end of extra time specifically for the penalty shootout and he went on to fail to score his spot kick as Italy see off his team to win the Euro 2020 title. MAN UNITED HANDED RASHFORD BOOST

Three-time European champions Manchester United have been handed a big boost on the injury front following the news that England international Marcus Rashford has returned to full training after a long layoff. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the news in his pre-match presser ahead of the Premier League clash with Everton at the Theatre of Dreams this weekend.

Solskjaer informed reporters that Rashford has returned to full training after the English forward underwent shoulder surgery in the summer. Rashford had to go under the knife shortly after helping England to the Euro 2020 final so as to correct a long-standing shoulder problem. Rashford was one of the three attackers who missed a penalty having been subbed on as a substitute as Italy beat England 3-2 during the penalty shootout to win the Euro 2020 tournament. The two countries had to settle for the dreaded penalty shootout after their Euro 2020 final clash ended in a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes. Apart from Rashford, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka and fellow Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho also missed from 12 yards out in the colours of the Three Lions during the Euro 2020 final.
